As the store launch is getting nearer I am going mad. There’s no much to do and I am just not sure I have considered everything that will be needed.
The lease and insurance is done.I will collect keys on 1st July.
The furniture, fittings and Cash register are all booked.
The carry bags, tags, labels ordered.
The lovely Ethical stuff that we imported from various countries are all here and looking pretty.
Need to design the canopy signage for the store, which I will sort out this week.
The greatest worry is the launch night. I am not sure how they launch a store here in Australia as back home in India its a rather traditional affair.
I have thought of a small fundraising event for the launch evening. Wine and fingerfood. And a few goodies to be auctioned. Need to arrange for food, wine, water, soft drinks and what else? I’m not sure at all, at this stage.
Auction:
High Fashion garments and few accesories will be on auction.
I am also considering the Cadbury Fair trade chocolate for fundraising and some personalised wine too.
Reason for the Fundraising:
We are raising funds for a collaborated runway in Paris and this will be a good time to blow the whistle.
The runway in Paris is at the Ethical Fashion Show by Messe Frankfurt. 10 designers from So Ethic will be given AHIMSA silk ( this is a patented silk made without killing any silk worms).
Each designer makes 3 garments each and the 30 garments on the runway will be sold at the So Ethic stores and also orders taken for Ethical Fashion stores worldwide.
This is an effort to publicize the Ahimsa Silks and the designers alike. The total costs for the participation (just fees) are $12000.
I will soon meet experts in the field to consider a blend of crowd funding and individual sponsorship for the same.
Just crazy at the moment!
